FAQ's

Treatment duration ? Please allow up to 45 minutes for your appointment
Regularity of appointment ? Each person is an individual. Your therapist will discuss your needs with you during the initial consultation.

Why have a maintenance treatment ? Maintenance treatments help to maintain mobility and improve muscle function whilst stopping niggling conditions becoming problematic and painful.

Who can benefit from a treatment? There are no barriers to receiving a treatment, although in some limited instances a doctors note giving permission may be required before proceeding. I have extensive experience of treating all ages groups with a broad range of conditions. These include people living with dementia, individuals with life-limiting conditions and complex health needs. I am able to support patients both pre and post-operatively, and persons recovering from injury and illness.

I don't have an injury or chronic condition - Can you still treat me ? You don't have to have an existing problem to enjoy massage. Many patients use massage to aid relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety or to enhance general well-being.
Will it hurt ? Massage doesn't have to hurt to do you good. You may experience some discomfort than a lighter swedish massage, especially if you have lots of knotted tissue.

Taking part in a sporting event ? Pre-event massage - deep tissue massage should be no more than 48 hours before an event. After this only gentle massage should be considered. Post event massage - as soon as you can manage ! 24 -72 hours after an event is best for deep tissue massage , but if there is a massage tent at the event a gentle short massage can benefit. Massage following an event can help you to recover more quickly and can be used to evaluate a niggling injury.
